Tao Shen

 

Coach Tao Shen played his collegiate soccer at Concordia University in Portland, OR where he helped the team to win a conference championship and a national ranking as high as #16 in the country. He also played one year at Spokane CC and helped the team with a 3rd place finish in 2005. Coach Shen played semi-professionally with the Yakima Reds (PDL) and Las Vegas Strikers (MPSL) during his summer month away from Washington State University.

Coach Shen, a native Chinese, lived 5 years in Germany where he started to develop a passion for the game of soccer. He is excited and honored to lead the Cardinal Men's Soccer team back to its winning ways.

Men’s Head Soccer Coach       
Skagit Valley Community College, Mount Vernon, Washington  2009 - Present
➢    Coaching the appropriate soccer teams;
➢    Provided individual training to clients wanting to develop and enhance soccer skills.
➢    Recruiting soccer players within appropriate rules and regulations;
➢    Assisting students in developing appropriate soccer skills, techniques and strategies on the field;
➢    Assisting students, as may be required, in meeting their educational goals;
➢    Keeping team statistics in compliance with appropriate rules and regulations;
➢    Transporting athletes to team events as required;
➢    Assuming responsibility for the conduct of players on and off the field.

Men’s Assistant Soccer Coach

➢    Assisted the Head Coach on all aspects of the program
➢    Focus on individual development of player

➢    Assisted the Head Coach in making tactical changes in games

➢    Provided youth with opportunities to develop their soccer skills, personal pride in a quality environment.
➢    Evaluate players abilities
